In 2009, Casey Pugh asked thousands of Internet users to remake “Star Wars: A New Hope” into a fan film, 15 seconds at a time. Contributors were allowed to recreate scenes from Star Wars however they wanted. Within just a few months, SWU grew into a wild success.
We at Studio 8 thought this was a fantastic idea, so Brock LaBorde, Java Marcheselli, and Eric W. Pierson picked a fun scene, shot it, and sent it in. Two years later, the people in charge of the project picked their favorite scenes and stitched them all together into one continuous re-made Star Wars film…and we just found out that our scene was chosen to be in the final cut!
If you skip to 30:55 in the video, you can see our scene, but I highly recommend just sitting back and watching the whole damn thing.
Thanks so much to the peeps at Star Wars Uncut for creating the project and letting us be a part of the finished product.
This page contains most or all of the info regarding our project entitled “The Tommy Wi-Show.” The above playlist contains every video in the series (you should watch all of them right now!). Below you will find a constantly-updated list of press and interviews about it, as well as trailers, posters, behind-the-scene pics, fan-made videos, and anything else we decide to throw at you.
For the past few months, we have been hard at work producing a fancy new series for the awesome company Machinima, and now it’s finally time for the world to know (almost) all about it! It’s called “The Tommy Wi-Show” and it stars Tommy Wiseau, the man who created one of our favorite films of all time, “The Room.” Tommy was also the star of our comedic horror project “The House That Drips Blood on Alex,” which aired on Comedy Central last year.
We are so excited and fortunate to be working with Tommy and an amazing small crew of badasses, and we think that this show is different than anything else we’ve ever done and it’s probably different than anything anyone else has ever done – part talk show, part video game review show, and part retro sci-fi strangeness. The series premieres on Sunday, September 25, and will plop out new episodes every Sunday (and lots of bonus videos in between!).
This page will be constantly updated with cool info about the show, so bookmark it or something…
Look how proud we are of our baby boy, Chris Trew. He went and got himself filmed in a cool movie and tonight it’s having its sold-out premiere in Austin, TX. It’s a remake of Richard Linklater’s groundbreaking film “Slacker,” but this one was shot by 24 different filmmakers and kinda re-imagined a little bit here and there. The scenes are all one-take character studies, essentially, and that is yet another something that Chris Trew excels at, apparently. See for yourself in his leaked scene below!
UPDATE! Chris Trew will NOT be attending the “Slacker 2011″ premiere in Austin tonight and you can watch the below video and see why…
