Thrift Store Shopping

Andrew tried on this cold-proof, duck feather-insulated ski outfit a total of
32 times that day before finally deciding to give up and cancel his missionary
trip to Colorado. He changed his mind the next week and almost froze to death
because he had no ski outfit to wear.

Brock thought this camouflage jacket would perfectly match the camouflage
jacket he was already wearing, but then he realized that the pattern of green
and brown didn't exactly line up with each other and decided against buying
it. Plus, he couldn't figure out how to wear two jackets at once.

Prices were slashed beyond belief and the deals ran deep that day. Here you
can see Doogie, who is quite the bargain-hunter, proudly displaying a pair of
plaid pants that had been marked down a whole five cents!

Andrew found this wonderful computing device from 1981 that featured an 8-inch
monochrome screen, a keyboard that was only missing a few letters, DOS, and a
crank that allows you to power up the machine because it doesn't have an
electrical plug. That computer is now what we use to make Studio8.net look as
good as it does.

Doogie shocked himself, our cameraman, the world, and even that old rascally
Donald Duck when he tried on this Donald n' Daisy dress from the early 1970's.
To this day, Doogie still hasn't been able to close his mouth or change out of
that dress.

Here's a picture of the boys BEFORE their thrift store adventure. Notice how
boring, unattractive, and sad they all look.

Now this is the cheery boys AFTER their adventure. Andrew found a coat and hat
for $40. Java found a wristband for $82. Brock found some sort of shiny
leotard overalls for 18 cents. Doogie found an old high school letterman's
jacket for free (Doogie never got to win any patches for his old jacket, so
this made him feel important).

This is the final shot of Andrew, Java, and Brock, mere seconds before the
wall behind them collapsed and buried them under a heap of smelly clothing,
mice, and cheap wall-building materials. The neat thing is, though, they all
looked so blissful. That's how we know they are in Heaven looking down on us
right now.
