The Marriott Adventure
Page 1

In the car one day, Fernando sighed, "Boys, life is
boring. If we don't find something to do soon, I want out of it."

Johnny B, sleepy and also a little sad, said, "I will
hang my head forlornly in agreement."

"I will show these boys what the sweetness of life is all
about," thought Java, but he didn't say it because his mouth was full of
grape juice that he had been saving since that morning.

"Well looky where we are, guys,"
exclaimed Java in that mysterious and special way of his.
His strange enthusiasm was met with two groans from the back seat.
The Marriott said nothing because it is only a building.

"If you're trying to cheer us up, it
won't work," said Fernando as Java led them toward the Marriott.
"Yeah, whatever," whispered Johnny B.

"Isn't this the greatest lobby," Java
asked to no one in particular.
"I suppose that is a rather nice vase," Fernando dryly stated.
"Shutup," spat Johnny B.

As Java frantically wondered about the
next step in his little plan, the three shared an awkward silence in the hotel
elevator.

"This looks fun," said Java, coaxing
the others to play in an untended janitorial cart on the 27th floor.
"These individually wrapped toiletries are exquisite," remarked Fernando, now genuinely excited.
"Okay, maybe it is a little bit cool," muttered Johnny B.
